The 2017 Idaho Artistry in Wood Show will be held at the Wyndham Garden Boise Airport Hotel (formerly known as the Boise Hotel and Conference Center) on February 25 & 26, 2017. Show hours on Saturday are 9 AM - 5 PM and on Sunday, 10AM - 4PM. This yearly show provides an opportunity for artists working in wood and/or gourds to participate in a judged competition and display their outstanding creations to the public.

Five wood working clubs (Treasure Valley Scrollers, Southwest Idaho Woodturners Association, Idaho Gourd Society, Idaho Woodcarvers Guild, and the Ada County Woodworkers) collaborate to make this one-of-a-kind show the largest in the Pacific Northwest. The show will include woodcarving, woodturning, fine furniture making, pyrography, intarsia, gourds, marquetry, scrolling and other wood art. No affiliation to a club is required to participate.

Boise, the City of Trees, is the perfect venue for this exhibition. The Treasure Valley is home to numerous notable wood artists. Many have won prizes in national and international competitions. By participating in the woodworking clubs they continue to teach and inspire others pursuing woodworking. Some objects are utilitarian, others are created solely for their aesthetic value. Hundreds of these works from the first creations of beginners, to the products of professions, will be on display in the 2017 Show. From Novice to Expert, there is something for everyone.

Tools and materials used in creating wood and gourd art will be available for sale. In addition to the juried competition there will be vendors, raffles, a silent auction, and demonstrations. Join us in the Saturday night banquet and auction, a great place to relax and enjoy the company of other wood and gourd artists.

Admission to the show is $4.00. Pick up a coupon at the Boise Woodcraft Store and get $1.00 off. For youth 12 and under, the show is free. The cost of entering work in the show is $3.00 per piece if entered in advance or $5.00 at registration, which will take place Friday, February 24, 1-6 PM at the conference center.
